Session 1 : Clarity
- What makes a presenter clear? What might hinder our clarity?
- Good practices for using international English or Globish
- Feedback on each presenter’s clarity (structure, control, presence, cadence, vocal variation, etc) Focus on AKTEOS dimension of Explicit vs Implicit Communication
- Tips to speed up preparation of an intercultural presentation
Session 2 : Impact
- Keep your audience’s attention with 3 levers (ethos, pathos and logos)
- Design meaningful messages and visuals
- Show up fully … and understand how your own cultural preference is perceived by the audience (e.g. too much or not enough information or emotion)
- Design tips for a simple but impactful slide deck
Session 3 : Adapting to needs
- « Never assume » that what is obvious or important to you is to your audience
- Leave your comfort zone and tailor visuals, language or structure in order to better fit the cultural expectations of your audience
Session 4 : Managing pushback
- Stay strong, assertive and dynamic when faced with questions or challenges
- Avoid unnecessary conflict through dialogue and diplomacy
- Be more confident in assessing the strength of pushback (this is also cultural) and responding appropriately
