Description of the tool
The International Profiler is divided in tree parts :
1. On-line questionnaire
The participant fill in a questionnaire (80 questions - 40 min) which evaluates the importance given to 10 key competencies, with 22 associated skills, attitudes and knowledge areas. The questionnaire is available in english, french, german or italian.
2. Debriefing
It's a structured discussion, about a hour and half, to work on the cross-cultural competencies that need to be developed.
3. Option
To go further, you can complete the debriefing by a coaching session.
Methodology :
The questionnaire had been developped in a context of cross-cultural research. Once established, it had been tested on a sample of people from different cultures. The results were analyzed and a new questionnaire were designed, the one we use now.
After filling-in the questionnaire, we optain a "ranged score" and a "normed score" for each of the 22 dimensions. The "ranged score" is between 1 and 5 and it evaluate the importance that the person gives to the dimension. The "normed score" is a rate to compare the person with other people on the database (over than 4200 persons).
The scores are analyzed by the trainer. He highlights the synergies existing between the dimensions. He helps the person to understand what a low or hight score can mean and he gives solutions to better balance s his behaviour.
